Awaiting a Response

Posted by Unknown

We sent out an email to the teacher we had hoped to work with, she hasnt responded yet. If she doesnt soon we will set our to contact her in person. Here is the email we sent her...

I have been working on a program in my Critical Thinking class that I would like to implement into your curriculum, specifically in the Accelerated Geometry M218 course. My groupmates and I have devised a plan that draws some of the key aspects of assessment literacy and introduces them into the classroom in order to improve student achievement. The possession of knowledge about the basic principles of sound assessment practice, including terminology, and the development and use skils. A few articles that could help you learm more about this topic are: Is Assessment Literacy The Magic BulletResponse to Assessment Feedback: The Effects of Grades, Praise, and Source of Information Classroom AssessmentOur problem is that not all students are achieving as much as they would like to in many of their classes, specifically math. Our plan of action to diminish this problem is to implement a system of Assessment Literacy in the classroom, which will provide students with a broader insight into how they are doing in the class and what they need to do to improve these grades. Basically we want to make a program in which when a sudent takes a test and recieves an unsatisfactory grade, by school or personal standards, they will be able to come in to meet with someone to re-learn the topic. Preferably we would like to make the teacher the one with the most communication but the Student Sucess Center is a viable alternative. Students who put in the effort and show progress in the re-learning process will be able to take a new test on the same topics and earn a higher grade. There are more specifics that we could discuss if you would like to help us out in implementing this program.

If you would like more information on the goal of our project, please visit our group blog located at

Thank you for considering helping us with our project!

If she doesnt want to work with us we have three other teachers that are easily availible options to continue with.
